All right. Today I want to jump on the mic and I actually want to talk about this podcast because it's probably the number one topic and question I get asked about these days. And so, and I love talking about it too, honestly. And I love every single one of you that listen and tune in each week. I appreciate you more than you know. I've been on this journey now for three and a half years, and it has been a wild ride, and I don't regret any of it. I've loved it every single bit of the way.
What used to take me three and a half hours when it comes to editing a podcast interview now takes me less than five minutes with AI. And so I would say if you are interested in starting a podcast or that's something that is of interest to you, you definitely should do it. And a lot of times people will say to me, well, isn't it a lot of work? And yes, the answer is it is a lot of work. But is it anything we're doing a lot of work?
So that's my encouragement to you. If you want to start a podcast, definitely do it. So back in the days, if you've been following me here for a while, you know my journey. I used to be a recruiter, a headhunter. So I was a professional interviewer. I'd interviewed tens of thousands of people. So interviewing was a skill set I had I was very strong with. and I just knew I needed to figure out the back end, the tech piece. And so it's what I did is I read a blog.
And I went down a rabbit hole on exactly what to do with the tech stuff. And that's the number one thing that I think intimidates people is the tech piece and the production piece of the podcast. But really, it's not that scary. If I can do it, you can do it. So let me break it down for you, too. The software that I used when I do my podcast interviews, even my solos right now, when I'm talking to you guys, I use a software called Riverside.
Okay, and I've been using it for three and a half years. I can't say enough good things about it. I love, love, love Riverside. And I work off of a PC rather than a Mac. And so my editing software is called Audacity. And if you have a Mac or an Apple product, you would use My Garage is or Garage Band to edit your podcast.

And then my podcast host, I use Buzz Sprout for that. So that's where all my episodes are stored. That's where I upload it to when I after I edit it, I upload it to BuzzSprout. And BuzzSprout is what communicates to all the other podcast providers. And so Buzz Sprout talks to Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Castbox, all of the above. You got
And so that's kind of the back end piece of the podcast. And when I first started my podcast, literally I had 15 listeners. It was February of 2023, and 15 people tuned in. But those 15 people tuning in are what gave me the encouragement and the motivation to keep going and to keep doing this and keep this podcast alive. And so when I first started my podcast, I wanted to interview people that were workplace experts.
And so is what I did is I found my guest on LinkedIn. And that kind of grew like a snowball in the podcast space. And then I got sick of talking about workplace experts topics. And so I really wanted to talk out people's journeys and sharing their stories. And I was fascinated by these female entrepreneurs, whether or not they had a service-based company or a product-based company. I just wanted to know how they did it.
And I wanted them to come on the pod and talk about it. And I've enjoyed and loved learning. I now call each of these people friends. And open starting a podcast has also opened up so many doors for me. I have been a guest on over a hundred podcasts. And it's just literally the sky is the limit when it comes to the podcasting space. So if that's something that you're interested in or are
highly you like listening to podcasts and you would like to host one, I would say definitely do it because it's been worth it all day and I can't say enough good things about it. So do it. Thanks for listening.
