In today's solo shorty, I talk about one thing that has worked for me when it comes to having success. The concept seems like a no brainer, but not many people actually implement it.

Today I want to talk about something that's come up recently and has been on my heart. So I want to come on here and jump on the mic and share it with you. For those of you who didn't know, I am part of a group here in Beaufort, South Carolina called BI. It's a business networking group. And I was a speaker this past Tuesday. And one of the questions they ask you when you're a speaker is what has led to your success? And that was an easy answer for me because.

This concept I'm gonna go into and kind of break down seems very simple, but is actually hard to implement sometimes when we're in bad moods and not in a good place. My answer was I think it's important to treat people how we want to be treated. And that was my answer because I've lived and worked by that motto my entire professional career. I don't care if I was a recruiter working with entry-level people, if I was headhunting working at the highest level.

If I'm servicing my clients or my digital marketing firm or even podcasting, whatever fill in the blank, I treat every single person how I want to be treated. And I think that's really important and shows a reflection of who you are as a professional and your character. Because no matter if we're having bad days, we all have bad days. Okay. I have days where I'm in a mood. Maybe I didn't sleep great. Maybe I'm pissed off at somebody or I don't know, whatever, fill in the blank.

But you have to lead and treat people with kindness. I don't care if it's the receptionist for the office you walk in or the waitress for your next lunch out. By the way, I'm gonna go off about something. I waited tables once upon a time, and I think every single person should wait tables and work in the service industry because you learn so many great skills. You learn time management, you learn how to deal with difficult people, you learn about money, you learn about showing up on time.

Cleaning up after your section, all the things. So, anyways, my point is I think it's really important how you treat people. Again, we live in a world of chaos and turmoil. And if you turn on the news, it's nothing but negativity. And so it's easy sometimes to get dysregulated or to maybe not lead with kindness. But I think that's been something that's led to my success. And I hope it's just a friendly reminder to you two because kindness goes a really long way.
