Happy New Year! Instead of doing New Year's resolutions, each year I choose 1 word to set the tone of the year. Happy New Year. It feels so good to be back in the studio. I haven't been in studio in over a month. For December's content, I just batched out my content and when I was feeling really good and had a lot of energy, I just stripped out all the episodes. And so I haven't been in the studio in over a month and it feels so good to be back. So welcome to 2026. I don't know if you're like me, but I love the start of the new year. Just feels new, feels fresh. We're good.
well rested from the holidays, had a great time with family in town, did some traveling, all the things. So I want to go on here and talk today about my word of 2026 and why I chose it and why I even choose a word, okay? I used to do New Year resolutions and goals and I felt like I would look back at them just like a lot of people in two, three months and say like, okay, great, you only did like 30 % of these. And so I stopped doing that. I felt like I wasn't setting myself up for.
for success doing it. I started, there's an author I really like all of his books. His name is John Gordon. And he talks a lot about choosing a word of the year. And so ever since I've been following him in his journey and reading his books, I decided to pick a word instead. And side note, he has a book called The Power of Positivity and you've got to read it. I read it once a week, once a quarter. is the, actually let me take it back.
It's called the positive energy bus is the correct name for it. And it's all about positivity and it's 10 simple concepts that are great to implement in your day to day life. And some of them may seem like super simple, but they are really effective. So check it out. The positive energy bus. So after I started following him reading his books, and by the way, I read the energy bus every quarter. I think it's a great reminder. It's an easy read. You can finish it within like an hour or two, depending on how fast of a reader you are.
So I followed him and he suggested choosing one word for the year. And so I decided to do that. And I've been doing that the past five years and walking into this year, 2026, I really wanted to think about a word that I would be set up for success. And that would be meaningful and multiple different pockets of my life and my business and my personal relationships with my health, wellness, all the things as well. And so this year I chose the word abundance.

I feel like abundance is such a great and positive word and can be used in multiple aspects and buckets of your life. And I'm a big believer. talk about this a lot when I talk on stages is there is enough out there for every single person. There's 8 billion people in this world and there is enough for everyone to go around. Okay. So if you're seeing it, listening to this podcast and you're like, I don't really know. I have a scarcity mindset sometimes, or sometimes I'm by myself competing or comparing. Don't do that.
Stay focused, keep your blinders on. I know it's hard to do that sometimes. And the reality is there's enough for every single person to go around. I don't care if it's business, don't care if it's podcasting, I don't care if it's having healthy relationships, you can have all of those things. We just have to believe in the abundance factor. And I feel like abundance is transferable spiritually and business, again, in podcasting and relationships, all the things. And so just want to jump in here today and share my word of the year with you today and it's abundance.
