Today I want to go over why, three reasons why the goal is not to go viral online. So I don't care what social channel you're actively using, whether it be LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, the goal is not to go viral and here's why. Number one, you bring in people that you...
are not your ideal customer avatar into your ecosystem. And what that looks like is you create a lot of clutter in your online ecosystem. And so even if you post something and the vanity metrics look awesome, your numbers shoot up, your likes, your followers, your counts, your comments, it's actually not coming from someone who's actually going to buy from you. So which means it doesn't even matter. It just is a vanity metrics. Number two.
it completely jacks up your stats. So when I go in my analytics, specifically on LinkedIn, I'm looking at what's working, what my audience likes, what resonates with them, what they are learning from, and that's how I create my content when I'm specifically doing LinkedIn content. It's a little different for Instagram. I go more the entertainment route for that. But for LinkedIn, I focus on learning and showing my audience
teaching them, giving them as much free information as I can to help set them up for success. So when I look at my stats, I want them to be as accurate as possible so I can know actually what's working and when you go viral, your stats get completely jacked up. Number three, when you go viral, you actually miss an opportunity for real connection with your audience. And that's really the goal here. That's why we're here. You want to create connection, you want to grow your business, you want to increase the leads.
You wanna increase the clients coming in, but it all starts with truly connection and people who want to work with you. And you start that by being authentic out there. So anyways, that's my hot take on why you should not focus on going viral.
