Caroline Pennington (00:00.474)
Welcome, Shelby.

Shelby (00:02.018)
I'm so excited, I can't wait. They're not ready for this episode.

Caroline Pennington (00:05.338)
I know we are both extra spicy today. So for those of you listening, Shelby, introduce yourself. Who are you? What do you do? All the things we want to hear about it.

Shelby (00:14.894)
What's up guys? I'm Shelby Claymaw. I live in Louisiana. I'm like Caroline's best friend. So if you're listening to this, like you're not, I am, I'm kidding. I'm a social media freak, marketing freak, I should say this. I own an agency. I have a conference and I own a membership or founded a membership that allows you to be able to post seven days a week if you want on social media platforms where we make it super easy and you can create content under an hour in a podcast. And I'm just here to shoot the breeze with her again today.

and let you know like the real craft that is on social that you might just be questioning and what we actually think is gonna happen in 2025 when it comes to your social media and building your brand online. So that's a roundabout way of who I am.

Caroline Pennington (00:55.88)
Boom, right out of the gate. Let's go with it. What are the trends for 2025?

Shelby (00:59.918)
2025, I think it's so funny because there's so many, just had this conversation before we hit record is a lot of the conversations we've been having lately is like a lot about mindset and a lot about, Hey, Shelby, can't do this or Caroline. can't do this XYZ. We're worried about what Sally 417 from AOL like things of us still. And it's just kind of annoying. In reality is this.

Social media is free for you and it's marketing 101. So if you understand marketing in general, you will do well on social media. And what's coming in 2025, 100 % to my core belief, because I follow all the people that really do know the trends that are coming up, especially with Gary Vee and all, is if you're not willing to humanize your brand, then you're gonna get left behind. Meaning, put your face in front of the camera, show the organic content versus the highly produced, with.

Cameras and scripted and all that they just want to see like the human behind the brand no matter what industry you're in So before you say like hold up Shelby I'm in like I'm an attorney and I have to be all buttons up like who cares like no you don't you're still a human and people want to connect with you on that human level even if you are doing a high level case for them or if you're an H back it doesn't really matter what you're doing or you're a high level CEO or an exec in a company that's listening to this right now you're like well I can't do actually say look

I came from the oil and gas industry. I implemented this a long time ago when I was in there and I watched their social media skyrocket. People just like to see people. And if you aren't willing to show your face, tell people who you are, talk about your non-negotiables, your mission, your values, your vision, all those things, then no one's going to work with you. And I think they're gonna go really hard on this in 2025 because truly it's all that's gonna separate you. And we are in an AI world. So the only way to separate yourself from an AI world, which,

Don't get me wrong before you all come at me. We do use AI. I don't have anything against AI, but also AI is a computer. It's literally a computer. It cannot humanize you any more than you can because you are the human if you didn't know that. But if you want to set yourself apart and stand out from your competitors to get out of the noise on social media, like you have to be willing to rip the bandaid off and just show everything that shows you as a human being. Now, when I say that, I'm not saying air out your dirty laundry because we don't want to hear that. I want you to zip that up.

Shelby (03:13.006)
but I want you to like tell us your morning routine. What kind of coffee do you drink? Do you work out? you know, what is it like to work with you behind the scenes in whatever service or product that you do offer? Giving that humanization to your content is gonna be freaking massive in 2025. So what I would recommend is ditch all the highly produced crap, get an iPhone. If you want lighting, but you can't afford lighting, you don't know what to do, put a window right in front of you and let that light, natural light hit you. And if not, there's a bunch of ring lights on.

Amazon that you can get for relatively cheap and just start talking. And that I truly to my core think that that's what's going to happen in 2025.

Caroline Pennington (03:51.208)
What do you say or what is your opinion talking about the mindset? Because I'm not going to get off that topic yet. So I hear all the time, especially on LinkedIn and I know you hear on the other channels. I'm a perfectionist. I just want to come across as a perfectionist. I'm just too much of a perfectionist to just put myself on camera. look like a, I personally look like a rat every day, but I don't really care. So what is it?

Shelby (04:06.218)
Shelby (04:18.318)
my god.

Caroline Pennington (04:20.136)
What is your thoughts there?

Shelby (04:22.19)
Okay, so if you follow me or you don't, either just listen to this part before you do hit follow. I either look like homeless, like Hobo Joe, or 100%. There's like no, I mean today I kinda look in between, but there's really no in between. Because this is the thing, I want people to feel like I'm approachable and relatable to them, no matter how successful I am or not.

And this is, I have a conversation with at least one person a day and it really just irks my pickle when I say this. It's literally like perfection needs to go out the window. People are over aesthetically pleasing and perfection on social media. They want to see you. They want to hear that you failed and you problem solved. They want to hear that you.

got a bad review and this is how you took care of it. They want to hear about the fact that you want to burn your business down 50,000 times before you want to build it back up. I mean, I've said that 7,000 times this year. So like they want to see the real person behind the brand. And I think that when you let your mentality stop you, I think it's arrogant and I think it's stupid. And I'll tell you this, I'm very straight to the point of Caroline didn't warn you. It is this, I call myself spicy Shelby because it comes out and I'm just

a matter of fact, like straight to the point when it comes to you get one life to live. So like, are you gonna let someone else or the mentality of I have to be perfect stop you from chasing that God given dream or talent that you have because there is one person in the world that's waiting for it. So if you are coming out of the gate and say, I wanna influence a million people, then I'm sorry, honey, you're not. Let's take a step back and say, I just need to influence one person. There is one person right now waiting for you.

that if you do what I do or that Caroline does, they don't need us, they need you. So if you can't get over your dumb mental state that you're going on right now when it's literally like, I hate what I look like, I hate my voice, what if I don't sound smart enough? All those things, I think that's stupid. And I hate to say it, well, not really, but like, I just think that you need to get over yourself because people don't think about you as much as you think they do. But they're going to get inspired by you once you get over yourself.

Caroline Pennington (06:30.436)
Ooh, so good. also, why does it, tell me about selling in the stories about why it makes you relatable just to do your everyday things.

Shelby (06:42.048)
I so a lot of times, I'll go back to this really quick too, because I had a conversation yesterday, they were like, Shelby, how do you get into the mindset of spicy Shelby? And it really is like, well, I didn't really think of that. It's really when someone pisses me off or says something that's like dumb. And then I literally just go crazy and I'm like, y'all, if you want to remove the needle in your business, you got to do this, this, this and this. And if you're not willing to do that, then you might as well hang it up because like you shouldn't be out here anyway. And so,

The thing is, I don't have to hype myself up to do that. I just tell it as is. And if that's who you are, then do that. And the second follow-up question was, well, what if people don't take me seriously or what if I accidentally say something wrong? And what I say back to that is, we are all experts in our own way. We can all be in marketing, but you and I can have a different opinions, but still come to the same outcome. It doesn't matter. Like what I think and what I know over time and experience still makes me an expert. Doesn't mean that I won't ever...

Learn again. I still want to continue to learn but whatever you say people are going to take you as an authoritative figure in your Actual industry so like you're never gonna say something super perfect. You're never gonna like say say something and never change your mind It's an ever-evolving marketing aspect or whatever industry you're in so just give yourself grace and say like hey guys I learned this today or this is why I think this because in the last ten years it actually freaking works like

You are your authoritative figure. like whatever you have, the evidence that backs it is always going to be right. It doesn't have to be textbook, right? It could be your way, right? If you have the results to prove it. So that's what I wanted to say, finish about that. But then for the DM selling, think y'all, you can scream through reels as much as you want, or any type of content that goes out on your grid or any platforms as much as you want. But if you are not having genuine conversations of

in your DMs with people that could potentially buy from you or people that could ask you to be on their stage to speak or to be on their podcast or could be a partner in something that you want to launch. Whatever the case may be, you will not be successful because the real conversations happen in the DMs because there are some things that just don't need to be talked about in public. And that's where you build that trust. And a lot of people tell me, hey, Shelby, I'm scared to get on my stories. I'm like, why? She's like, because people won't watch or like people will watch. I'm like, everybody's going to watch. So might as well give them the opinion that they're going to have of you anyway.

Shelby (08:58.23)
And so like you might as well just rip the bait off. And when you start getting on stories, you become even more relatable, which then gets you into the DMs, which then gets them signed up into your webinar, which then gets them as a new member or a new client or a referral base or whatever that is, because now they feel like you are friends. And so if you are sleeping on the DMs or any of that matter, then you are also doing yourself a disservice because if you're just posting and engaging for the outside world to see,

then you aren't really one learning your consumer because in the DM that's where the magic happens and that's where you actually get to know your consumer. What do you want to see? Like I am not beneath saying, Hey, Caroline, what'd you like about this post? Why didn't it resonate with you? Or like, would, what are you struggling with right now? Give me three things that you would love me to create content on. Like I don't, they are who I'm creating content for. So why would I not ask? And so I think that people just have like, you, it all boils down to mindset shifts. Like if you are

someone that can't get over yourself and like you're not confident, you're not someone that's gonna sell yourself, you're not someone that's gonna talk about the value you have to offer, you're not gonna be someone that knows your worth, then like truly like what are you even doing? you, then social media is not for you, being an entrepreneur is not for you. You have to push yourself outside of your comfort zone in order to be successful in any way. That is really spicy. I don't know if your people are gonna be ready for this episode.

Caroline Pennington (10:15.858)
They're gonna be ready for it because I've been slowly ripping the bandaid off now and this is like the full swipe, okay?

Shelby (10:22.034)
Listen just get a friend that's an Enneagram eight and we all think that I'm an Enneagram three But like she Caroline alone has made me more of a savage in the last how long have we known each other six months eight months I don't even know Then I ever was and I'm just like she's like no this is what we're do. I'm like, okay So like just get you a friend. That's just a savage. You can't have mine, but like you can get another one She's like what?

Caroline Pennington (10:46.534)
I think if you're out there people pleasing, you're literally doing yourself and your business to disservice.

Shelby (10:51.374)
They don't have time. Time is money everyone. Like time is money. And if you surround yourself with people that suck the energy out of you, you will not move the needle in your business. You will not get anywhere. You will not hit that vision board. You will not be able to even manifest anything in your life because you are letting people in your life control the energy you have. And if you don't have the energy to chase your dreams, then you're not going to be successful.

Okay, I'm gonna wait.

Caroline Pennington (11:14.6)
truth.

All right, what are do's and don'ts on social media?

Shelby (11:21.506)
Okay, don't use stock footage. I think that's very clear. And then, Jesus take the wheel. Do not like literally capitalize bolded, underline, italics, really big font where like your grandmother can see it from a mile away. Do not dance on the internet if that is not your personality. Do not.

take templates from other people and not give them credit or take the content that they've created and take credit for yourself. Like it's literally just, just don't, don't be rude. You know what I mean? That's number one. Number two is don't dance on the internet if like you're just not a dancer, that's cringy. Just because like some social media guru has told you to like, get on the dancing trends. It's going to help your account grow. Like people can see how cringy that is. And like what you can do is use the trending audio.

put a microphone that like my first ever video I ever did wasn't the microphone wasn't even plugged in. I used a trending audio and I just spoke to the camera. It was really spicy because somebody of course pissed me off and said something dumb. And so I said it and people were like, holy crap, I love this Shelby. I use still the trends to help my account grow. But I also did what was good for me. Like I don't just dance on the internet. So don't do that. You do not have to let social media consume you. And like a lot of people are like,

I have to be on it 24 seven. Hey y'all, used to be you. I used to be you. used to be on there 24 seven. I have a lot of clients. We used to be on them for them 24 seven. And then I ended up in the hospital. So you do not, do not have to be on there all the time. You do have to understand your consumers. You do have to understand marketing. You do have to understand their every move. And you do have to have a strategy that's gonna help you convert. And when you have that, then it's golden. And when you actually have a planned out schedule that keeps you consistent with a strategy base.

you are gonna be able to let that machine run behind you while you go play with your kids, while you go to the gym, while you have dinner with a girlfriend, while you catch up with on your favorite Netflix show or go on a date with your husband, like whatever that may look like for you, like when you actually do it the right way, then you don't have to be consumed with social media.

Caroline Pennington (13:35.974)
You said the S word and I'm so glad that you did because strategy.

Shelby (13:38.862)
What does that even I wouldn't even play on y'all.

Caroline Pennington (13:44.528)
Let's talk about strategy. I talk about this all the time on LinkedIn about how you can't just post on there. You can't just post on there random things or random times or whatnot. You have to have a strategy to your cadence of your social media, whatever platform it is you're deciding to use. Tell me about the strategy.

Shelby (14:04.808)
When it comes to social media, this is the thing, strategies are different across the board. So obviously a strategy for LinkedIn is different from Instagram and Facebook, even to TikTok. And so the number one thing when we start developing a strategy for someone is I wanna know number one, your goals, and then number two, every move of your demographic. So where are they? What are they doing? What do they like? What?

is making them make moves. like, are they are like more of a reader and that's how they absorb stuff. Are they more of like a video when we pull with emotion? It depends on the type of content you actually have to put out there. So when you are developing a strategy for anything in social media, you have to first and foremost understand your goals and your consumers goals. Second, what I always like to say is like a mix of authoritative aspects of things as well as fun shit. Like number one, for like, if you're listening to this and you want like some tangible things to walk away with.

Here's four topics that we literally do with our clients all the time. We do it with us, we do it in the membership. It's kind of a little bit similar to like what Caroline does too on LinkedIn, but what we say are four things. Number one, about me. So what is it you, what are you? What is your value? What is your mission? What is something about you that your consumer doesn't know? What are non-negotiables about you? So like give them the human behind the brand. This could be you as the founder or the owner. This could be an employee spotlight. This could be anything of that nature. So the consumer actually gets to know you.

Number two could be a behind the scenes. So what does a behind the scenes look like? So maybe it's packaging an order that's getting shipped out. Maybe it's demonstrating a product or service that you have. Maybe it's doing a consultation with someone. Give them behind the scenes of you and that said consumer or where they can see themselves working with you, whatever that may look like. So if you're podcasting, if you're speaking like behind the scenes, get ready with me as I go speak on stage. Like they, people are weird. They just want to get to know you as a human being.

Second, mean third, what I would say is do a showcase for the product or service that you do offer. So shout out the value that you have for your consumer. So what services do you offer? What products do you offer? Do a fricking spotlight. Talk about what you sell because if you don't talk about what you sell, then people don't know what you sell and then they don't buy from you because they have no idea that you sell the thing that you sell. So like people are like, I don't wanna be too salesy. I'm like, honey, people probably don't even see half the shit you post on social media. So like you gotta post more about it. And then the fourth one that's gonna help you too with authoritative aspect of it is,

Shelby (16:27.704)
customer testimonials. It's giving you the street cred, and it's giving you the authority that you know what you're talking about in your said industry. So when you do this, what I love to recommend is if you can get a video testimonial from your consumer, that's always golden because like anybody can type up a review and say, Shelby said it, you know? But like, if you can get a review that's on like, holy crap, I loved working with Caroline. She gave me her strategy and my LinkedIn has skyrocketed in like a week.

Like what like that is like, and you can feel the excitement in the consumer and you can see like what Caroline really did to move the needle for me and my brand. So I'd say those are the four main things for rinse and repeat each week. And it's worked for me for three and a half years and it's worked for over hundreds of clients that we've dealt with and we've done social for. And it's just a beautiful thing. But I think what happens when people get so, so locked in on like strategy and what to post and what not to post. And a lot of times as I'm reading Gary V's book, it's like,

It only takes one piece of content to change your life. And that one piece of content, you don't necessarily know what it is until it actually goes out and it happens. And you're like, Ooh, that's what they like. And so this is your way of like using these platforms to test the content for free to see what your consumer likes. And so instead of getting so bogged down and like, Shelby said this, Caroline said this, Gary V said this, like just do shit that you know is going to resonate with your consumer.

Caroline Pennington (17:51.314)
I think too, it just is starting and staying consistent because the people that I see or I've met with that don't have any success on LinkedIn, I'm just going to use LinkedIn as an example. It's because they gave up.

Shelby (18:01.879)
Yeah.

Shelby (18:06.85)
Well, that, yes, because you know what, in my podcast I recorded earlier that was solo, was like, we live in a world of instant gratification and it's so freaking annoying that if you are doing organic social media, whether you're on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, threads, YouTube, Twitter, whatever it is that you're on, if you're in it for a short, like very quick gratification, like you're doing the wrong thing. This is a long-term game that is,

steady and consistent with you building your brand. And if you aren't willing to like take a step back and understand that, then Caroline, no matter what she freaking tells you, no matter what I tell you, no matter what we actually do for you, no matter how much we try to beat it into you that this is what you have to do. Like if you don't want to show up consistently by minimum six months to a year, then you need to hang it up. And I understand ad spend is there as well, but like I built my entire business and I think Caroline too, my entire freaking business.

on organic social media. My client's business, my business, my brand, all the things I've never said one dime. So if it is done right, organic social media can work wonders for you and it's not dead. I'm not saying the ads don't work. I'm just saying if you can't figure out organically what your consumer likes and what they need, how the hell are you gonna figure that out when you put money behind it?

Caroline Pennington (19:26.872)
be on record here and say I do not feel like showing up a lot of days but guess what I do it anyways because it that's that's the game changer right there.

Shelby (19:32.054)
Yes.

Shelby (19:38.254)
It is, and I think a lot of times often, and Caroline can attest to this, lately I've just been like, I'm toe tired, I'm in my own hat. I talked about this today too, is it doesn't matter how successful you are, every step of the way and every journey that you have on your entrepreneurship journey, that didn't make sense, but whatever, you understand.

You are always gonna feel doubt. You're gonna feel imposter syndrome. You're gonna feel like, don't feel like doing this crap today. You're gonna feel all of these things. It doesn't just magically go away. The difference between the people that are successful and the people that are not is discipline versus motivation because you're not always gonna be motivated. You're actually probably only gonna be motivated like a third of the time. It's the discipline that actually gets the needle to move that you show up day in and day out that like you truly say, it doesn't matter how crappy I feel.

I don't want to show up. You still have to show up. But the thing with that is if you plan it strategically and you plan it out, like I went dark last week for an entire week. It didn't post anything. But guess what? My social media was still running and it was fine. I was still showing up because I planned accordingly. And so I just think that like, if you were like, well, Caroline or Shelby, I just don't feel like showing up today. Well, sorry, boo boo. Put your big girl pants on. Let's go. We got to rock out. You got big goals to achieve. You want the big goals to be achieved and you got to freaking do the work. It's not going to be done for you.

Caroline Pennington (20:56.786)
That's the game changer. also it's funny because people, you're right, the highlight reel, they like, they want what you have now that took you a year and a half for me, years for you, and you have to do the work. So this is on record. If you, that's what you want, then you have to do the work.

Shelby (21:15.586)
You have to do work because otherwise how you expect to get it like what do you this? Okay, I deal with this a lot of times too is okay So then you have I have these people that come to me all the time and say like how do do exercise? I need to film all these pieces of content. I don't know why I don't like wait pause before you ask me that question Let me let me film it just cuz I want my reaction Let me cuz I like I would love my reaction cuz I'm like did I even show like a that was a dumb question reaction? Which I I don't I say it no question is dumb

Caroline Pennington (21:30.844)
Let me film you.

Shelby (21:41.272)
But every time someone comes up to me say, I wanna start the influencer journey or I wanna start a business, I wanna start my social media journey. And I really love X. So I want you to all think as you're listening to this, all think of like your favorite influencer, your favorite business that is established as hell. And they say, I want my stuff to look like this and I want it to do this well. And I'm like, okay, that influencer or that business didn't start yesterday and it didn't start today.

It started years ago. So have you scrolled back to the very beginning of their journey? I guarantee you, hands down, that their content did not look like that in the beginning. That they have worked years in and years out to get to this point and to be this successful. So for you to idolize that, that's awesome. But it's not gonna work for you because you didn't put in the grunt work that they put in in the beginning in order to get there. And so like, it just, what happens with social media is everybody like wants to like,

be everyone else and they don't realize that there was a journey that they were on as well. I think she laughs.

Shelby (22:53.752)
There you are.

Caroline Pennington (22:55.717)
I don't know, we gotta read that. But I wanna hear this because, man. No, I was, I don't know something about the internet, but okay, let's start over here. What are some frequently, what are some frequently, what is your most asked question?

Shelby (22:57.518)
Hello?

Shelby (23:02.028)
Wait, what'd you hear? What was last? I don't even know where it stopped. I thought you were just like this.

Shelby (23:13.006)
Where to start?

Shelby (23:19.854)
Do you want me to retell that story? What I just did? Okay. Okay. So a lot of times I get asked this question is like, okay, it's whether it's an influencer or somebody that wants to be an influencer or a brand. Okay. So they come to me and they're like, I want my stuff to look like this. And they're like, they show me this account. That's absolutely beautiful. And like the first thing I say to them is, well, they didn't start today or they didn't start yesterday. They started years ago. So what you're seeing right now is what they've worked for year in and year out.

Caroline Pennington (23:21.177)
Yeah. Yep.

where you, as you, you wanna produce this perfection of content, but you haven't put in the grunt work to get to that yet. And so that's where people lose their motivation because they want that part. They want, like, how did they get to this point in their life? How did they get so successful? Like all that stuff. And every time they come to me and say that, I'm just like, you have to put in the work. You have to.

to put in the work in order to do it. And what they did in these brands and these influencers is, if you went and scrolled all the way back to when they started, like I'm sure their stuff wasn't good, but they just like were like, we're gonna figure this out together. And like they were very open and very honest about it. And I think a lot of times what people think is the instant gratification, they look at these brands, they look at these influencers that they idolize and they think it's just gonna happen for them. And I'm just like, that's not the case. And you have to work for it. For example,

I was on my way to my nephew's thing just now and I got a text message from an old client that was like, my God, can you talk right now? It'll be two seconds, I promise. And it was like 500 question marks. And I was like, okay, the excitement in this text, I need to make time to call right now. So let's rewind two and a half or a year and a half ago, we were sitting at a restaurant. She was a home builder.

And I thought we were meeting to talk about her home building stuff. So I was like, okay, because we were going to help her with home building, which we did do that, but that's irrelevant to the story. She sat with me at this table and she said, Shelby, I really think I want to start a food blog or a food Instagram. And I was like, okay, I think you could do it. And like, I've just met her. Like, I mean, I knew her, but I just met her really. And we worked together and she put in the work.

Day in and day out. posted every single day. She listened to every single thing I told her to do she stayed very particular with what she wanted and the goals that drove all of her and she reached out to brands and she tagged brands and she did stuff for free and like all of this stuff that people these days are not willing to do and so Fast forward to right now. She calls me today and she just got a freaking massive Massive can't disclose any of the information but a massive deal with a brand

Shelby (26:01.006)
that is going to pay her someone's literally yearly salary for eight reels and eight stories. She has been grinding for one year, one year, we just made a year. And she, when she started with me, she had 400 followers. And right now she just broke over 8,000 followers. And like what she's done y'all, is she's put in the work. So she had her vision board. She's had these people she's looked up to. She showed me all these things. And I said, this is simply what you have to do to get there.

And you know what she did? She did it. She did it anyway. She bleeds in herself. And let me tell you, her videos when they first started were terrible. I was like, wait, we gotta, wait, let me just, let me come film you. And she got better over time. And then we just taught her how to do it. And this is the thing with when people start their Instagram account, whether you are a coach, whether you are a business, your zone of genius is not social media. Unless you are starting an agency, then you shouldn't screw up. You should know what you're doing. But.

Caroline Pennington (26:35.875)
Thank

Shelby (26:56.426)
Anybody else your zone of genius is not social media So give yourself grace and be willing to learn find someone that knows how to do it and invest in them to teach you how to do it I was listening to Jenna Kutcher's podcast with Cody and for her last name is Sanchez maybe okay And she's like, how do you stay wealthy you basically buy in the next move? So like

Instead of trying to learn it on your own, find someone that's learned it and knows how to do it and then ask them to help you to do it. So like truly, like if you want to start something and you really want to do it, find someone that's done it, get in their coaching program, get in their membership, get in there, whatever. It is an investment guys, but I promise you, if you get connected with the right people, it will pay off.

Caroline Pennington (27:41.541)
And I'm going to add to this through my journey, I've made good investments and bad investments. The majority of them have been good. have made some expensive bad ones too, but I still took away something from it, a learning lesson, a tech, something, whatever, fill in the blank. And so you just, you move on.

Shelby (27:46.957)
Yes!

Shelby (28:04.746)
Yeah, I just think that there's always a reason for each investment. So even if it's a bad investment or a good investment, even the bad ones have taught you something. Maybe it gave you a good connection, but you didn't get out it what you thought. Or maybe it told you like, okay, I invested with this person. Okay, this is something I need to watch out for for my next investment because it wasn't good and I don't want to do that again. So like I want to

just challenge everybody that this goes with your investments, this goes with all your failures, this goes with everything. Like take a step back and ask yourself, okay, what did I learn from this situation? And how can I get better for the next one that could present itself the same way? And it's a game changer. As soon as you like reframe, it's all goes back to mindset. Like if you can reframe your mindset of like everything you do in life, you're gonna be golden. And I'm not saying you're gonna do this every day because there's multiple texts where I text Caroline or Crystal and I'm just like,

and they pick my ass back up. So get you some A friends, get you the people that give you the energy, and then just do the damn thing. It's really not that hard. mean, it kinda is hard, but not that hard, you know?

Caroline Pennington (29:06.575)
I'll also add to it. No one's just gonna come out of who knows where this guy, pie in the sky and pick you up and place you as an influencer or place you as a multi-mazillion dollar entrepreneur. You gotta go and grind it out and put in the time, put in the money and just do it.

Shelby (29:15.275)
I I kind of wish they would though, you know?

Shelby (29:22.348)
Yes.

Shelby (29:26.36)
Preach, sister, because truly, like, I...

Anything that's fed to you about it being easy or it can be easy like okay That's bullshit because Nothing in life that's worth it Comes easy Meaning you are not an expert in where you're going already. You're not starting as the expert So you have to go through trial and error through your life as an entrepreneur as an integrator for someone else as Whatever the hell you're doing your life. I don't care if you like are selling rock

Like I don't care what you're doing. You have to go through the ins and outs, the peaks, the valleys, like all of it to get to whatever and it's hard as hell. Those people that say it's easy, they don't know what they're talking about and I know they're probably gonna come at me when they hear this episode, but who cares? I'm gonna tell you this, all of the shit I've gone through and this year I've gone through a hell of a lot of crap that I thought was like literally the end all be all for my business, my career, just because me, I just was like, I'm done, I'm tired, I can't do this.

But every single obstacle, every single failure, every single opportunity has made everything that I do worth it and say like, I just I survived that and I am successful and I love where I am and I'm proud of what I accomplished. And what I've learned from that is, OK, it's helped me tweak my boundaries. It's helped me understand what I want next. It's helped me navigate what my twenty twenty five could and would potentially look like.

because I dealt with that in 2024. So like, I just wanna tell all of you that if you feel this in your gut of saying like, it's so freaking hard, like we know, but it's so freaking worth it when you're chasing your dreams and you say, holy shit, I just got paid to speak or I just sold out my event or I just got this huge client that's gonna just like, I never thought I would get. So like, I just want you to tell you just keep going, keep freaking going and you're not alone.

Caroline Pennington (31:24.165)
We're ending on that note and I want to hear about your webinars. So how can we find you?
